Barren Illusion
"If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal- that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself. The greatest gains and values are farthest from being appreciated. We easily come to doubt if they exist. We soon forget them. They are the highest reality. Perhaps the facts most astounding and most real are never communicated by man to man. The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched." - Henry David Thoreau

My Name's Max Power, I Got it Off a Blowdryer
sábado, 13 de agosto 2005
So I came back about five hours ago after visiting some family. My bowels will never let me forget they are the rulers of my body; my motion sickness reared its ugly head as my uncle drove us around Connecticut looking at For Sale signs. I can handle vehicles moving down the high/free/express/roadway at 30 mph+, but once the thing starts lurching and turning around and cartwheelin', I WANT TO BARF. It used to be that I couldn't even handle subways; now I can do a merry jig on the subterranean tracks without turning any shade of green. But anything above ground (except trains) is tricky. I have to eat something before getting on the bus or I will die. If it's a car, just fly out to the highway and start driving from there because I can't handle city streets without mumbling abdominal curses.

Other than that, it was a nice change of pace and it was cool out there at night, temperature-wise. I hate the heat and want autumn and winter to come now. So I can wear lots of layers. I'm like an onion that way.

I'm dying for autumn. I want my leaves brown now! Winter can wait. BTW, I'm linking to your Nutang blog now since you've obviously abandoned your other offspring, your long neglected domain. Is that coolio or crappio? So why do you prefer Nutang to Xanga? Better interface? Faster to use? More titty action?

I don't prefer NuTang to Xanga, I'm just doing it for reasons I will tell you in person. So if you read this, remind me! Yes linking is very good, just so long as you know my xanga's my main one. And it's quite sad I've never flown before, but I fare well on ships/boats/ferries.
